Meet Shanna
Prior to opening Inner Light Therapy LLC, Shanna worked full time as a Clinical Therapist at an acute inpatient psychiatric facility, where she served community members addressing: trauma, substance and other addictions, depression, anxiety, relational issues, suicidal ideation, and other concerns. Shanna enjoys working with individuals who are ready to take positive steps towards growth and healing. This may include processing traumas, developing self-awareness, discovering identity, learning about strengths, and/or changing behaviors, thoughts, coping mechanisms, or interpersonal patterns which are no longer working for them.
Shanna is an experienced EMDR provider, professionally licensed (LPC) in the state of Alaska, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional level 2 (CCTP-II). She utilizes a trauma-informed, psychoeducational, and multicultural perspective to support clients through the processes of healing and growth, with an emphasis on holistic wellness as defined by the client's personal goals and values.
Acknowledging the need for help can be difficult and is an important step in working towards healing and wellness. At Inner Light, our priority is to provide a safe, empathic, and compassionate environment in which clients can explore traumas, patterns, coping mechanisms, and any other concerns which lead them to therapy.
